The de-facto blockade imposed by the Saudi-led coalition and large number of airstrikes it conducted have deeply impacted its capacity. Close to the port, the Al-Hali slum is one of the poorest area of the city. Without the support of NGOs who provided water on a regular basis, inhabitants would have to walk for miles.
